Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: FAQ

How should I prepare for my initial call?

Your practitioner will provide you with a questionnaire that will need to be completed at least 24 hours before your scheduled call. That's all there is to it!

What should I expect from my first session?

You can expect your Practitioner to review the form that you filled out prior to your first call. The goal is to see if this is a good fit for the two of you, and if this is an avenue of health & healing that you would like to pursue.

Do you help treat terminal or chronic disease?

A Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, or "FDN-P", does NOT diagnose or treat specific diseases and/or manage specific symptoms. An FDN-P does NOT treat anything specifically, but instead an FDN-P works on everything nonspecifically by identifying healing opportunities and underlying causes. ROOTS Health & Wellness Practitioners apply wellness principals, behavior modifications and natural therapies & modalities along an opt-in self care journey of natural healing. Our Practitioners provide ever-deepening insights about individual obstacles to health, and we assist our patients with identifying opportunities to overcome these obstacles through strengthening their  body's innate intelligence & vital reserve. Our Practitioners do NOT MEDICATE, but instead, we EDUCATE.

Why should I do lab testing?

Your lab tests can give you a clear, objective baseline to understand your biochemistry and what’s going on inside your body. We can help identify imbalances and deficiencies in your systems, which is the first step to helping you feel better. Many of our patients do lab testing periodically, to progressively monitor their body’s health and how they are responding to treatment.

Do you work with insurance?

We try our best to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses and to help navigate which companies or tests would be best for your unique case, however our Practitioners do not work with insurance at this time. Some FSA and/or HSA companies do allow their account holders to purchase lab work and/or supplements with their funds, so please check with your provider to see if this is an option for you.

Is there a cancellation fee for missed appointments?

Yes. If you are a "no show" to your scheduled appointment, or you cancel your appointment within the 24 hour timeframe, you will be charged at 100% of the cost.

Where can I get my blood drawn?

ROOTS Health & Wellness partners with mobile Phlebotomists & blood draw companies to offer blood draws in the comfort of your own home. Pricing varies depending on where you are located. Appointments are necessary to ensure adequate time dedicated for your lab tests and test kit explanations.

If you do not live nearby, there may be other options available, including visiting your local LabCorp or Quest for standard lab tests.
